Looks Good: A Pendleton Men's Lounge Stewart Charcoal Tartan Robe Review
Oct 8, 2012
My old robe, given to me over two decades ago, was starting to fry and deteriorate. Clearly it was time for a replacement, but many robes on the market were polyester blends I wasn't interested in. I found the Pendleton men's lounge robe, and liked what I saw.
The Pendleton men's lounge robe uses exclusive fabric woven from 100% wool in US based Pendleton mills. The fabric is then shipped to Mexico for assembling. Care includes machine washing, tumble drying on low, and if desired a light steam press.
When I first put the robe on, I recognized its itchy and scratchy qualities. Fortunately it doesn't take long for this realization to fade. This seems to be getting less so after each wash, time will tell if it goes away all together at some point. However, I don't think it will.
I really wanted the red, but the Stewart charcoal tartan was almost half the price. I decided the price was more convincing than the color. I wear a large t-shirt, and the large robe fits me well. Ultimately I wouldn't pay the list price for this robe, even though I am happy with it at the reduced price.
If you're looking for a light weight attractive men's robe made with natural materials and quality construction, the Pendleton men's lounge robe is worthy of consideration. Just be prepared for the feel of the wool.
PROS: Comfortable Warm Easy care instructions
CONS: A bit itchy
