He was a commie but he nothing against painting portraits of rich people. I'm glad he did because they're among my favorites of all his work.

Well, let's face it. He wasn't exactly poor himself. In his murals, the wealthy don't come off as well as they do here. Rivera really was a man of great contradiction. Makes for good art, I suppose.
