No More Barking

I have two small dogs (dachshund mixes) who are relatively well behaved dogs. But like all dogs, they tend to bark when they hear strange noises or people come by the house. I live in a neighborhood where all the homes are pretty much on top of one another so you can hear everything. Recently, a neighbor complained that my dogs continuously bark while she is in her backyard. Because my city has a strict noise ordinance, which includes barking dogs, I had to do something about the barking and fast!

I tried the sonic tone collars but they were useless. The noise didn't even phase the dogs..they just kept on barking. I also tried the shock collars which were pure torture! I couldn't bare to put my pups through that pain. My last resort was the citronella spray collar, specifically the Premiere Spray Sense Anti Bark Collar. These things are amazing! My dogs stopped barking almost immediately! They were definitely confused at first but finally figured out that their barking caused the spraying. Now they don't make a peep at anyone coming to the door.

I recommend purchasing the collar online because of the cost savings. I bought mine at Petsmart only to find out that I could have gotten them online for more than 1/2 the price!

Thanks so much for this review- I'm thinking of getting a dog (maybe a pure bred puppy, after reading that review)this summer but, am concerned about the barking. Thanks for the info- now I won't waste any time or money!

Hi- I'm totally introducing this to my neighbors! They also have two dachshunds who didn't respond to the sonic tone collars and have felt helpless lately trying to get them to stop barking 24/7. Did you keep the collars on them even after they stopped barking? Thanks for the great advice!

I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I do leave the collars on them but only when I'm out of the house. But if they start barking while I'm home, I lift up the collar and they immediately stop! :)

If only my upstairs neighbors had discovered these! They had two new puppies that would bark their brains out all night long. Good to know that there is something out there that works!
