Reliable and a great TV for cramped spaces

I purchased this TV in late 2008 to replace a dinosaur CRT type. The reason I opted for this is it would fit my oak entertainment center. It's surprisingly light and also impressively reliable.

Since owning this I have never experienced a single problem with it. The picture quality is reasonably vivid (it falls short of a Sony HD model I own, but not by much.) I use this for two purposes: a TV connected to a DVD player, with an attached Roku HD Streaming Player and Google Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Playerdevices, and as a PC monitor. In both uses I am more than happy with the performance and specs.

The remote is intuitive to use and I love the larger buttons on them. They require 2 AA batteries that do not ship with the TV. I am also impressed with the internal sound quality. For DVD and ROKU use I run my audio out to an external SurroundSound system, but for my Chromecast I use the internal speakers and the sound is better than most and far exceeds my Sony HD.

As a PC monitor the resolution is excellent - even to my old eyes. The modes I have experimented with are 800x600 and 1024x768 (both with a 4.3 aspect ratio), and 1360x768, which has an aspect ratio of 16:9. There are lower resolution modes too, but I do not use them. In any of the foregoing modes the display is crisp and easy to read.

Here is a list of interfaces:
2 HDMI ports
Computer input (a D-sub RGB input for a monitor and a 3.5" audio input)
2 sets of video component inputs (Y, Pb and Pr)
2 sets of audio in
1 set of composite video/audio (yellow, white and red)
1 USB port (for photo shows only, but will power a device like a chromecast)
1 analog antenna connection (coaxial cable)
A single digital audio jack for stereo and multi-channel receivers that are equipped with a digital audio input.

Although I have mine in an entertainment center, this easily wall mounts. The mounting hole pattern conforms to VESA 200x200, which is a common mount, and the unit without the stand is a relatively slim 4.5 inches. It weighs just under 19 pounds without the stand and about 19 pounds on the nose with it. The actual dimensions with the stand is 26.1x19.1x9.5 inches. In other words, a relatively small footprint that makes it ideal as a secondary TV and/or a monitor.

After approximately five straight years of use this TV has performed flawlessly. I have more than received the value for which I paid and am so impressed that when it does come time to replace it I will probably buy another Sanyo.
