Sturdy, Elegant, Effective

This is a very well designed and elegant monitor/laptop stand. It serves three main purposes: it elevates your monitor/laptop, it provides you with more space on your desk, and it provides you with an easier access to the ports at the back of your computer. If you are looking for the ways to declutter your work desk, or make a more effective use of your work environment, then this stand is a great accessory that can help you achieve that.

The main surface of the stand consists of a long 22" by 9" reinforced plastic board. At first the board seemed a bit lightweight and not sturdy enough to support heavier computers, but it turned out to be more than adequate for all of my needs. The stand is supported with two strong aluminum alloy legs, which are easily inserted at the sides. The stand can be adjusted to two different elevations, although I've only used the higher one of the two. I tested the stand with an older 15" MacBook and a 27" Dell monitor. It was able to comfortably support both. The stand also provides extra room for additional accessories on top - a DVD burner or an external hard drive for instance. In terms of the surface area this is one of the biggest stands that I've seen.

The stand has four USB 2 ports on the front, as well as a phones and microphone jacks. The USB ports can be connected to any of the computer's free USB ports through a long, integrated USB cables. Likewise, the phones and mic jacks can be connected to computer via two included cables. This is a very effective way of making the USB ports accessible, especially if you have a computer that otherwise sits underneath your desk. I do wish, however, that the USB hub used the 3.0 version of USB. That would greatly enhance its functionality and make it future proof.

I use this stand with my Mac Mini and it truly is a great stand for this and similar small factor computers. I am able to completely squeeze Mac Mini underneath the stand, which opens up a lot of free real estate on my desk. I can now permanently keep my Wacom tablet in the area where it's most useful. In terms of potential new productivity alone this stand is well worth the investment.
