What a Way to Spend the Summer!

JD was spending the summer at this folks' house at the lake and he was looking forward to a stress free vacation. Then he was pulled over by a good-looking cop with a dynamic body, Russell Seavers, and everything changed. This is one of the most erotic books that I have ever read.
JD is an adult man who never has trouble finding sex but this summer he is in a small town where everyone knows everyone else and secrets are hard to keep. JD was not looking for a relationship; he just wanted a summer fling with a stranger. Russ has other ideas and he wants a commitment. JD, it appears, has not had much luck with love and does not want to be hurt and really prefers sex for fun. Russ, however, is detemined to win him over and we therefore get romance in this erotic novel.
It is hard not to love the characters of JD and Russ but I found myself rooting for Russ to win JD over. Even though there are times that I found JD to be unlikeable, I still wanted the two to work things out.
However, I did not care for the ending and I suppose that was because I was enjoying reading about the guys trying to reach a middle ground.
It just did not seem consistent with what we already learned about JD.
