Creasing Ceasing

I'm a huge fan of eyeshadow primers and am constantly looking for the Next Best Thing. I think I've found it in Too Faced's Shadow Insurance.

This silicone-based formula scared me a bit at first. It's runny, which made me think it would be too moist to really hold my shadow in place. SO not the case. The trick is to lightly cover your lid (the product site says "a raindrop size will cover your entire lid" but I use less than that) and WAIT at least 30 seconds before applying your shadow over it. I usually take that time to do my cheeks.

I haven't been this satisfied with an eyeshadow primer since Too Faced stopped making Second Base (I don't like First Base because it's shimmery). It goes on smooth, feels great and locks your shadow down like nobody's business. I can go out all night and come home with my make up exactly as it was when I left the house. How could you possibly ask for more?

The Skinny:

  • Contains both Vitamin E to soothe & an anti-aging moisturizer!
  • Works great with both powder & cream shadows
  • $17 from Too Faced website & Sephora
  • lasts FOREVER
  • light "nude" color that goes on more or less clear- may be too light for darker skin tones

I'd choose this over Urban Decay's Primer Potion primarily because you get more product. Sure.. Too Faced offers you .35 oz instead of Urban Decay's .34 oz, but the tube the product comes in makes it much easier to get all the product out. UD's packaging is super-cute but it makes for lots of lost product.

Next time you're in Sephora, try a sample! Most of Too Faced's current palettes are also offering a small travel size, so if you're in the market for some fun kits, try to get one with that included so you can try it out.

I completely agree! Too Faced Shadow Insurance is a must have for me. Not only does it erase creasing and helps with the longevity of your look, but I love it the most for its color enhancing of any shadow. What you see in the pot and what you get on your eye is the exact same, if not better and more vibrant. Love it!!! Too Faced also has a cream eyeshadow, Lockdown in 6 shades, that has Shadow Insurance in it. I love this for a long day out in the sun or a trip to the gym. It is one quick step with the same result.

Wow. I'll have to check out the shadow. I generally stay away from cream shadows but it might be worth a try. I wish they hadn't discontinued Second Base. It was so freaking awesome.

Oh my gosh, you are on a roll! My friend swears by this product, and although I don't have oily skin, I picked some up for my makeup kit. Again, great review!
