Quirky, fun, but not high-brow stuff :-)

Some of my friends gush over this series. My book club read the first one earlier this year and now the 2nd one. They are okay (not really book club material, for the record). I will admit I liked this one better than the first, with the exception of the grandmother, who drove me nuts. They are quirky, easy to read and toss aside when you're done. I don't think they'll stick with me or have anything meaningful going on, but I will probably continue with the series because they can be funny and let's face it, we all need a light read (or twenty) now and then.

I liked this story a little bit more, although I wanted some twist in it or something to kind of make me say "ooohhh!" but instead it was very predictable. Still, a fun read. I can see I'll be reading quite a few of these during my busy season at work when I need super light reading to stay sane.
