Decent function and definitely stylish, but probably not my first choice...
Dec 12, 2012
I'm always interested in trying out different covers for my eReaders, forever searching for the "perfect" cover. I decided to give the Verso Artist Series cover a try, and it's not bad. It's definitely stylish, and it provides adequate protection without being overly bulky. Given the price however, it's probably not on my "first choice" list...
I found that my Kindle fit well with the elastic corner straps. Since it's designed for a variety of models, there's some leeway in terms of the edge, which is both good and bad. It's nice in that you can use it for different Kindles (if you have more than one of the models listed). The bad is that it's not a "perfect" fit in terms of the edges being flush with the device. Over time, I think it's going to show some edge wear from normal handling. There's a pocket flap on the opposing side of the cover when you open it up. Good thought, but not overly practical. It would hold a few thin pieces of paper, but that's about it. I really like the look of the cover and the tactile feel of it, but for $40 it's a little steep for functional bling.
If I could go half-stars on the rating, this would probably be a 3.5 instead of a 3 or a 4. I'm still wavering between which one would be more accurate, but I think I'll go with the 4 and the disclaimer of "your mileage may vary"...
