Theres Always Sweet Dreams When You Wish Upon a Star
Dec 12, 2007
Pros: very warm, light weight, muted colors, Pooh character
The Bottom Line: Wish Upon a Star to stay warm with this Pooh Bear fleece
I searched for what seemed like forever for a theme for our sons nursery when I found out we were expecting. Almost immediately after laying eyes on Winnie the Poohs Wish Upon A Star (Wuas) set, I knew this was the set for us - although I didnt know if we would get the entire set. So I placed the set and several accessories on our registry and luckily received this wonderful fleece blanket. Alas, this and the cream fitted sheet are the only pieces of the set we received, but I wouldnt trade them for anything.
A Fancy Fleece, with a Down-Home feel The entire Wuas set has this look of country elegance and this fleece blanket is no different. This cream fleece blanket sports a maroon plaid trim that is a polyester blend. The fleece is very soft and thick making for a light but warm cover. In the lower corner we find a Pooh appliqué. Pooh bear himself is made of golden fur which is very soft to the touch, kind of like a Baby Gund stuffed animals fur. This Pooh is the current rendition of the Winnie the Pooh Character not Classic Pooh, which I like. Pooh bear is reaching for a maroon star. Measuring 40 X 30 the blanket is small enough for a little one, but large enough for a 2-year old to snuggle up in.
Now heres the kicker... this fleece retails for around $17 but can be found a little cheaper online. This is primarily due to the factor that it is part of a set as well as the hand work around Pooh Bear. The only retail store I found the set at was Baby Depot . A simple search shows it available through Target and Amazon also.
Sweet Dreams For Little Man This fleece blanket has been a part of my sons bedding since he was born. This was the main blanket I would use for him while he was sleeping since I knew it was going to keep him warm, but not too cumbersome that I needed to worry about him getting tangled in it. Also, during the winter he was an infant, this fleece was part of the regular rotation of blankets that we used to bundle him with. When Little Man moved up to a big boy bed, this blanket had to go on the bed. Many times this is one of the only blankets I will put over him, since he tends to be mini-furnace when he sleeps.
Two years later, our Wish Upon a Star fleece has held up to much wash and wear. (Washing instructions are machine wash and tumble dry on low). Its a great part of Little Mans bedding collection and I believe will be for a long time to come.
