I like this thing because it's simple and small. It's also cheap, so I actually have 2; one is to keep at home so I have it for running on the strand; the other I keep in my gym bag, so I never have to listen to the crappy music at Spectrum.

You don't get much with this thing. It has 1gb, and holds a couple of hundred songs. You don't get a display, so you don't get to see which song is playing, nor can you choose which particular song to hear. You can either "shuffle" the songs, or you can play them in order form the first song you downloaded to the last. Soooo, just make sure you only put good songs on this thing, otherwise you'll have to continuously hit the forward button to skip ahead to a song you like.

This is obviously not meant to be your primary mp3 player, but I think it's a great supplement. The one thing you have to be careful of is accidentally washing it. These things are so small and light, that I've left one in my workout shorts and put it through the washing machine.

I have one in my gym bag and have washed it only once. To-date it still functions.

That's actually a great idea to keep one in the gym bag since they're so cheap. It's my absolute pet peeve not having music at the gym! Hell at this price maybe I can keep one with me at all times, at work, in my travel bag, in my gym bag, in the car, in my coat... ok maybe a little over the top..but I'm loving the gym bag idea.
