Acapulco is a chain of 35 Mexican restaurants in California and Oregon operated by Real Mex Restaurants, the same company that owns El Torito and Chevys Fresh Mex restaurants. The restaurant is named after the town of Acapulco in Mexico, and serves traditional Mexican-style cuisine.

The restaurant first opened in Pasadena, CA in 1960 and has since spread throughout the state. Acapulco also operates one location in Portland, Oregon.

A step below El Torito.

Acapulco is basically the same Mexican-style restaurant as El Torito, except with different decor. Unlike El Torito, however, they don't have good drink specials, but their food is of the same quality and price. I'm not a big fan, but the restaurant is good for large groups and ambiance on weekend nights.
