I stumbled upon this place late one night after a wedding I went to at the neighboring Portofino Hotel. We we're just looking for a place to stop by and get a drink before going home. I didn't really know what to expect from a restaurant/bar in the Redondo Beach Harbor, but when I walked in I was surprised. A very nice establishment that had a DJ spinning some tunes.
I went straight to the bar and the bar tender was super friendly and helpful. He handed me a drink menu and they had a pretty good line up of drink they offered. Over all it was a fun night and I would recommend it if you are looking for a spot to grab a drink without the huge crazy crowds of Hermosa or the sketchy dive bars along PCH in Redondo.
A few weeks later I learned that Baleen has pretty good breakfast. A little skeptical again I decided to check out their food. Once again I was surprised. At night it's hard to see but in the morning the restaurant overlooks the harbor which is always a great site with sail boat masts shooting up in the area. It bring a relaxing feeling to you I think. I ordered an omelette which was really good! They make pretty good mimosas as well and like I said before, the service is pretty good! This is very rare that I say a restaurant has good service.
Overall, Baleen is a great place to grab breakfast or a late night drink. I haven't been for lunch or dinner but I'm sure the food is just as good. For breakfast I recommend the Eggs Benedict with some orange juice!

Whoa, it's not very often that you find a place that has fantastic breakfasts and drinks! Did you do both together? Maybe brunchtime. Would love to have those eggs benedict with a mimosa ;)
