Recently my hometown opened up a new buffet-style restaurant, the Golden Corral. I'd been to one of these out in Grand Island, NE for breakfast before, but hadn't tried their lunch or dinner buffets. Now that we have one here, I thought I should check it out. (We only had two buffet places in Sioux City prior to this, and they both left much to be desired.)
One of the best features of this buffet is their abundance and variety. I am in love with their salad bar! They have at least three different types of lettuce to choose from, and also feature spinach leaves and other green goodies. They have tons of fresh fruit to go along with your salad, and you can also buy their salad buffet by the pound for carry out. That's great!
I was a little reluctant to try their steaks, but I sucked it up and braved it. I'm glad I did. I'm not sure what kind of tenderizer they use on their meat, but the steaks were cooked the way I ordered and they were really really tender. I wasn't expecting this, as every other buffet around has horrid steaks. It was a much welcome surprise.
With the excellent salads and steaks, and also their huge selection of sides and desserts, all for under twenty dollars all you can eat, you really can't go wrong with Golden Corral. Unless, that is, you are on a diet. Good luck NOT eating a lot if you decide to check it out!
