Somewhere between a street vendor and a fast food restaurant, Gray's Papaya is famous for its very inexpensive, high-quality hot dogs. The "papaya" in the name refers to the fruit drinks sold at the establishment, which include orange, grape, piña colada, coconut champagne (non-alcoholic), and banana daiquiri (non-alcoholic) in addition to papaya.

Ok, there's a reason why Gray's Papaya's hot dog was ranked number one by Time Out New York in 2006. I never believed it until I've been there the first time in the late 90's.      Since then, not much has changed which is good. The hot dogs are served with Sauerkraut and if you want, you can get a papaya drink. This is where the name of the restaurant comes from.      Be honest, you can get a hot dog plus drink für about 6 dollars. That's very inexpensive …
