I stopped by the one in Clarendon for a nosh and espresso. The place was almost empty, and devoid of any atmosphere as well. I just wanted to buy my pastry and coffee and take it to a table-- but NO -- you have to be WAITED on -- and spend more money. So I left.
I love Le Pain Quo, as my friends and I call it. Their breads and baked goods are spectacular, and their wide selection of tartines (cold open-face sandwiches) served with cornichons (small pickles) are to die for! They've got some huge tables, which encourages you to sit with people you may not know and strike up a conversation that may lead to new friends. In addition, Pain Quo has great service, and their prices are pretty reasonable. I guess eating here makes me remember … more
