Since we went at lunchtime, there wasn't much "ambiance." It looked like any other restaurant in a strip mall. The inside was smaller than I had envisioned but very clean and well decorated.
The food was all very good. Oscar ordered the Cracked Pepper Seared Ahi Tuna . It was very fresh and done to perfection. My supervisor ordered the Kobe Burger which was also done as she had requested. I ordered the Pan Roasted Frans Farms Chicken accompanied with french fries and a special sauce. The french fries came in a cute little silver bucket and had a hint of seasoning. The chicken was moist and delicious. It was the perfect amount of food without feeling over-stuffed. The dipping sauce was like none that I have ever tasted. I couldn't quite make out the flavor of the sauce and forgot to ask the waiter. Which brings me to the service. The service was ok. For the price of lunch I expected the service to be exceptionally good service. I know that means different things to different people. To me, that means being attentive to the needs of the table, asking if everything is ok, informative, knowledgeable of the menu items and basically being nice. Our waiter was kind of blah. Didn't appear enthusiastic or even glad to be there, so thank heavens for the good food!
What was also interesting was you could watch the kitchen chefs preparing the food on the tv above the bar area. Have never seen that in a restaurant before.
I would recommend this place for a special occasion. I would like to try it during dinner hours or for brunch. Just hope the service is better cause the service doesn't match the food.
