Last time I was in Florida, I came across a restaurant in Melbourne Beach, Fl. The restaurant had a sign out front that read, "the best burrito ever". I consider myself a bit of a burrito connoisseur, so I thought there was no way I could pass up this opportunity. The burrito did not disappoint. When I found out I would be travelling to Florida again, I made sure that a return visit was on the itinerary.
Robburrito's was originally named Beach Burritos, Inc, according to the owners. However, due to some ridiculous lawsuit by a similarly named chain in Chicago (of all places to lay claim to "Beach" anything, it had to be Chicago?), the owners decided to change the name knowing that the burritos would be able to speak for themselves.
The menu includes an assortment of tacos and burritos with options for smoked chicken or pork. I had the Fiesta Burrito with pork which includes cheese, a choice of salsas and comes with "Salslaw" -- a blend of coleslaw and salsa. The salslaw puts a uniquely "fresh" spin on the burrito and the salsa options have something for everyone (from hot tomato based, to mango salsa to a chipotle mix).
The restaurant has tons of crazy crap on the wall, and the owners are more than happy to tell you the story behind any of them if you are interested. The owners were incredibly friendly and considerably helpful as I pressed for information on touristy things to do.
Anyone who's out in Orlando to see the Disney sites, it's well worth the trip out to the beach to check out the "best burrito ever".
