Terroni: Great Italian at Reasonable Prices

Last night I ate at Terroni, a southern Italian restaurant on Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles and I was really impressed. The restaurant had a number of things going for it.

Location. The restaurant is on Beverly which is kind of a busy street. Nevertheless, it has outdoor seating which is really enjoyable. We sat outside while the sun was setting and the neighborhood is interesting so a bonus is some good people watching.  Several outdoor diners had their dogs. Also, they had a Foosball table outside and several Italian guys were drinking beers and playing. The whole outdoor vibe really added to the experience.

Interior. The inside of the restaurant is really cool and looks really Italian/modern. While looking nice, there is a real casual feel. There is a decent size bar with lots of Italian liquors stacked behind it as well as an ornate Espresso machine. It was a great place to have a drink and peruse the menu prior to sitting down. Lots of special drinks on the menu. One person in our party had a Bellini which tasted very refreshing.

Price. The prices were very reasonable with the pizzas and pastas averaging $15. Given the quality of the ingredients and the portions, I felt like this was a good value. The wine list featured many low priced options.

Food. Most importantly, the food was superb. The menu was huge and it was one where I kept seeing things I wanted to order. Lots of daily specials as well. Great looking appetizers, salads, pizzas, pastas and main dishes. We had the following:
To Start
Bresoala: Wonderful thinly sliced beef with capers, olive oil and pecorino.
Tuna Carpaccio: Really light tasting sliced raw tuna with a fennel salad.
Both appetizers tasted clean and fresh and looked great on the plate.
We had two pastas and two pizzas. The pizzas were large but thin. My favorite was the spicy salami and mushroom. The crust was really crisp and the cheese delicious. My favorite pasta was the duck ragu which tasted and looked very rustic and wholesome. The portions were quite generous.

After dinner we sipped espresso shared a great tirramisu-like dessert and enjoyed the warm summer night. I had a great time and really enjoyed Terroni. I would highly recommend it. It was also great that @Graham treated everyone. Thanks!
