Kick back and enjoy one of the great vocal performances in the history of rock and roll.

The first time I heard Simon and Garfunkel's spectacular #1 hit record "Bridge Over Troubled Water" nearly 40 years ago I was positively mesmorized.  I thought to myself that this just might be the finest  lead vocal performance I had ever heard.  I have not changed my opinion all these years later.  Certainly this is an incredible tune in its own right and literally hundreds of artists have recorded it over the years.  But no one can sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" like Art Garfunkel If ever a tune will bring tears to your eyes this is it.

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" is a song about abiding loyalty and passionate true-blue friendship.  I suspect that each and every one of us crave a relationship like the one depicted in this tune.  It still sends chills up my spine each and every time I hear it.  Paul Simon's haunting lyrics are simply brilliant and Art Garfunkel's interpretation is just perfect.  I invite you to click on the link below and enjoy Art Garfunkel in his prime belting out this unforgettable song.  Few vocalists can deliver a tune with the power and passion that Art Garfunkel did on that day so many years ago.   In my humble opinion this is THE BEST vocal performance in the history of rock and roll!   Enjoy!

I love Simon and Garfunkel and this is a great song, though almost all of their songs are great (although I'm not sure "At the Zoo" is one of them). Nice job!

The lyrics and arrangement all conspire in AG's signature performance - and quite surprisingly, AG almost hit all the notes again at a S&G reunion concert in Philadelphia a few years back. Given the songs legacy, cover artists beware. However, Roberta Flack's version on her 1971 release Quiet Fire does BOTW justice. M

I totally agree that this song is one of the most moving pieces of music ever! It was in our repertoire for my high school choral group, many years ago, and it is such a fantastic song when done in that format as well. We sang it competitively, and even though we performed it dozens of time, it never lost its magic for me. Thanks for the reminder!!
