Deep, electronic and soothing music

Jazz, progressive music, and some R&B are what I typically listen to when it comes to music. But every once in a while I discover music that takes me out of my comfort zone. Listening to some shared music via SimplifyMedia (an iTunes sharing application) I discovered a group called Massive Attack. Their music sounds extremely relaxing and deep, especially around 1 in the morning when I was still doing some work. The first cut I heard was one they did with rapper Mos Def, titled "1 Against 1". After hearing the rest of the cuts, I decided I had to download their collected cuts from iTunes. I had to go on Amazon.com to get the Mos Def collaboration. This group is awesome. And though they've been a around a while, I'm glad I stumbled upon them. They are second group of electronic music cuts that I've downloaded. The other one is Dzihan & Kamien.

There is a whole world of music like Massive Attack for you to explore. You'll probably dig pretty much anything on the Ninja Tune label, as well as the Studio !K7 imprint, but you'll probably dig the artists, "Kruder and Dorfmeister" as a great next step. They have side projects called "Tosca", and "Peace Orchestra" that are also worth seeking out.

I love Massive Attack and am really glad that I discovered them, too!  Since you're into relaxing and deep music, I think that you'll like Landing's Passage Through, and My Bloody Valentine's Loveless.  Another band that's similar to Massive Attack that I really, really like is Cocteau Twins.  Beautiful, soothing music with exquisite vocals.  Check those out when you get a chance! :)
