Welcome to the beautiful sounds of Radio London.

The Who Sell Out was the band's first concept album.  All of the songs are tied together with radio jungles, fake ads and the call letters of Radio London.  Pirate radio stations were common in England during the mid-sixties.  One popular one was broadcast from a ship off the coast of Britain.  Peter Townshend decided to honor these outlaw radio stations in this album.  The most popular track from this record was "I Can See For Miles" which charted on the pop charts at #10.  They also recorded fake ads for Heinz Baked Beans, Odorono, Charles Atlas, Roto-sound strings and Medac.  A fun concept that lasts until the last two tracks which is a mini rock opera called Rael Parts I and II.

I really enjoyed the songs like "Our Love Was", "I Can See For Miles", 'Mary Ann With the Shaky Hand" ,"I Can't Reach You and "Sunrise" are some of the nest songs the band has ever recorded.  Even John Entwhistle gets a song "Silas Stingy".  A great album that I feel is The Who's best.  Even though it's overshadowed by it's next album Tommy and Quadrophenia.  I have to highly recommend this album for all those who enjoy concept albums or if you're big fans of The Who, you can't go wrong with this one.
