A television show

The Hughes, Snyder and Walsh families are the predominant forces in Oakdale, and they have quite a history. Many of the various family members and friends struggle to do the right thing as they follow their hearts.

When I began kindergarden in the fall of 1956 we got our first TV set. If I had to hazard a guess it might have had a 13" screen. That year a new soap opera debuted on CBS called "As The World Turns". My mother was a stay at home mom and she immediately got hooked. With the exception of several years when my mother worked part time while my brother and I were teenagers she has been watching the show. "As The World Turns" aired for the last time on September 17. My mom had been watching for most of those 54 years. Thanks CBS for making my mom happy for more than 5 decades.

if there was a "wow" kudos i would have given this 3 thumbs up. That's a lot of TV... i just did the math... that was 14,040 hours of TV if she watched all of them. Too bad they didn't have Tivo back then... she would have been able to do it!
