Every February I anxiously await the Grammy awards. The Grammys are the only awards that I enjoy watching, no Golden Globes or Sag awards, just the Grammys for me. Some years they are quite the disappointment, and others they are amazing...and this year they were the best. There were so many high points I don't even know where to start.
First of all, 1 word and some numbers...BLINK 182. Woah! I cannot even believe they are coming back. I guess the 'indefinite' hiatus was just too indefinite for them. I am so glad that they are going to be making music together again, and I am so hopeful for a tour.
Another high point - John Mayer won! I can't even believe it. I was so excited I kicked my tea cup off my table, which made me a little upset. Say is such a great song, and Mayer is such a great musician...now if he'd only leave that Jennifer Aniston we'd be in business.
Katy Perry...oh how I love her but honestly her performance SUCKED. She was off key, or from what it sounded, and the dance moves were just too much. I did enjoy the giant fruit...and the banana she came out of. I just hope she tweaks the live show for when I see her in April.
Green Day, Green Day, Green Day. They never cease to amaze me. I feel like they will still be rocking for years and years to come.
Taylor Swift is adorable...so sad that she had to sing with Miley. I do enjoy Miley, but she is somewhat of a fool in regards to her public persona. Maybe Billie Ray needs to take control of her publicity, or at least monitor her internet.
I think my favorite part of the night was the performance of 'Swagga Like Us' by Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Jay-Z, TI and M.I.A. (a verrrry preggers M.I.A.) Here is a link for your own enjoyment!
Agreed about MIA's performance. If I was ever 9 months along, I hope I'll still be rocking out like that. I loved her outfit... and her pregnant waddling!
Taylor Swift was so sweet and Miley came off really harsh singing with her. Just FYI Mayer and Aniston are on the outs...again...so you are in business!:)
Great review!! @DesignDude: HAHA! She's going to be born deaf. I def was cringing (more of the nervous cringe) because of how pregs she was!! I wish I watched the whole thing... I heard it was all amazing... guess I have to youtube some stuff now!
Seriously on MIA--that baby is going to be born deaf. But can you imagine seeing a video of that performance growing up knowing that you were there with all that talent on stage while in utero? I felt like Paper Planes was kind of forced into the performance, but it was still pretty amazing.
