Nerima Daikon Brothers is a wild and wooly musical comedy about a bluegrass band who spend their days working on a daikon radish farm, and their nights trying to make it big. Most aspiring rock bands think the path to fame lies in collecting enough fans to fill an arena, but not the Nerima Daikon Brothers. Their plan is to build the arena first. After all, how can they gather thousands of screaming fans if there's nowhere to put them? The brothers' backward notion also includes a desire to do right by their fellow citizens, so a large portion of their arena fund comes from knocking out bad guys in their small town, and stealing their money. This doesn't sit well with Inspector Karakuri, the chief of the local police, but most of the time, the brothers (and their extremely hot and infrequently clothed cousin) don't succeed in busting any robbers - they just fall in love with pandas, engage in startling sight-gags over the daikon's resemblance to a certain male appendage, and burst into song whenever possible. ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide Close

Trio of musician cousins try wacky schemes to raise money to build a concert dome. Silly, weird and toe tapping.

Mako Hideki and Ichiro: The Narima Daikon Brothers
You know why I love anime sometimes?  The medium can really take some offbeat or wacky ideas and make the material feel legitamate sometimes.  While this particular premise could play out in theatre with it's musical format, the remainder of the show involving all sorts of wackiness, not to metion vulgarity is better suited for the small screen.      Did I mention it's a musical?             Songs puncuate every episode …
