As a child, in the 1980's, I can remember my dad being very excited about this new Star Trek series. He had grown up watching the original series & was (still is) an avid sci-fi fan. I was a little young to appreciate TNG during its first few seasons but as I got older I became hooked. This series is, far & away, the best of the Star Treks.
