The 14th season of ABC reality television series The Bachelo …
Now in its fifth year, the season premiere of The Bachelorette airs on Monday, May 18 2009. Jillian Harris, a fan favorite from last season's The Bachelor, will now be starring as The Bachelorette, taking her pick of 30 eligible men on the show. Jillian … see full wiki
As I have previously confessed (with reasons divulged), I watch every season of The Bachelor. Yes, I find it cringingly amusing to see 25 women claw their way to one man's heart - but what I find even more amusing to watch 25 men attempt to swoop one girl off of her feet. I am talking about The Bachelorette. A reality dating show in which - pretty much nothing is real. Unless ladies, you often find yourself living in an LA mansion with 25 hot and studly men living in a guest house below, just waiting to pounce on any chance he has to spend time with you. Or perhaps, your dating activities regularly include helicopter rides and private concerts from huge country stars. If that's normal for you- I assume this fantasy dating show does not captivate you as it does me.
This season's Bachelorette is Jillian Harris - a cast off from last season's The Bachelor in which she made it to the final three but was rejected by Jason (the then Bachelor) and sent home. Jillian is back and "ready to find love again" and she so convincingly tells us in her cute Canadian accent. With her "hot-dog-toppings-tell-you-everything-about-a-man theory thrown out the window - she seems ready for anything. So far we've seen the first episode - possibly the most anticipated one for me of the season. We (the viewers) get introduced to 25, no 30 hot, smart, and charming single men, as does oh-so-lucky Jillian Harris. Although the premier did not disappoint, here are a few of my first impressions of the season:
- I quickly remembered why it was that I like Jillian so much when she had been on the Bachelor; she's cute, spunky, confident, and really down to earth. Oh- and rocking a white dress to boot.
- The men seemed like a good melting pot of career orientated, laid back, adventurous, and witty guys which is a plus.
- The foot fetish guy is sooooo creepy. I am embarrassed for his family and hope he gets sent home ASAP.
- The country singer was adorable - he can serenade me if he wants!
- Kiptyn is a hottie! I hope Jillian dumps him so my sister in law can date him since he lives in our area. Ladies check him out-- he's the first one up in the embedded video below.
- The guy with the "pizza topping theory" has no game and is not clever at all - dude really?
- The NY lawyer who, when sent home said, "Maybe she just doesn't like awesome guys" will regret he said something so stupid on national TV.
From the premier episode I can bet The Bachelorette won't disappoint this season! I do find it hilarious how chatty these boys are though. It is like a frat party- oh yeah but a dating show. Are they more into hanging out together? Not so sure. As for the cattiness I mentioned when I reviewed The Bachelor, it's no different with a bunch of single men. It is just cattiness with testosterone. I really hope Jillian does find her prince charming this time around. And I am pretty confident that she won't pick one guy and then change her mind and go back to another after the show has aired. She seems like she actually has a brain (sorry Jason).
