1 review about Tiny Toon Adventures

A Quick Tip by RabidChihuahua

If you went back into the early 90's and asked me what one of my favorite cartoons was, I'd eagerly answer Tiny Toon Adventures.  Hell, I was such a huge fan of it back then, I hoarded the boxes for the Tiny Toons fruit snacks that were in production around 1992-93 (don't ask why I did it, since a preschooler's mind is without much logic or reason).

Anyway, looking back on this show as an adult, I'd say it's decent due to the fact that it hasn't aged as well as I had hoped.  The two main problems with this cartoon were the fact that there was more emphasis on producing rather large quantities of episodes rather than fully-developing smaller amounts of episodes, so there's a good number of episodes that feel really flat.  Another weak spot for Tiny Toons was that some of the jokes haven't aged well due to the fact that they were pop culture jokes about media and celbrities that have more or less been lost in the sands of time (such as Sinead O' Connor).

Even with all these faults taken into account, there's still a good amount of episodes that still pack in laughs and even uncover some hidden jokes that flew over your head as a kid, so it's still worth checking out if you want to go on some trips down nostalgia lane.

If you liked this, you'll also like Animaniacs (if you haven't already seen it as a kid).

I still think it's weird that Paul Dini, one of the chief writers for Tiny Toons, would also be one of the chief writers for possibly the best animated series ever, Batman:  The Animated Series.

In 1990, I tolerated perhaps a dozen episodes of this series before opting to read some pop novel or other during my late afternoons. Even in my prepubescence, its strained wit, clumsy reference of topical subjects and smug affectations of the Looney Tunes classics left me with a certain distaste. Not yet an especially good program, The Simpsons already exuded a certain parodic authenticity to which TTA could only aspire.

Yeah, this was a fun show. If I ever have kids later on in life, I'll have them watch cartoons like this instead of the crap that's out today.
