A Racing Game Where it is Okay to Crash

  • Feb 4, 2008

Pros: Good scenery graphics and crash replays

Cons: Races last too long

The Bottom Line: Good racing game for a change of scenery and fun in that crashing does not really penalize you, but it can get boring.

This is a racing game in which its is okay to crash because it does not put you that far behind if you do. Not that you really want to crash in the game, but I just noticed that I never got any further behind because I crashed. What you do want to do is try to get your opponents to crash. Also, try to get near misses and drive into oncoming traffic without crashing to rack up points. In the races you are usually driving on streets and highways. This makes it more challenging than some other racing games where you do not have many obstacles to watch out for. I like the challenge of driving in this game, which makes it one of my favorite racing games.

The graphics are pretty realistic looking making you feel like you are really facing danger out on the road driving really fast into oncoming traffic. The crash graphics that play in slow motion are especially realistic. What I enjoy most about the graphics is the scenery of the places you drive through and I will admit the first time through the mountain course I crashed I lot because I got distracted by the scenery (good reason for me to continue to avoid getting a real drivers license, as I would probably do the same in real life).

While this game can be fun to play I find it does get kind of tedious and boring after a while. The main thing that I do not like is that the races last forever as each race tends to take me a minimum of 8 minutes. While the scenery is nice it gets boring driving the same track that long and tiring holding the A button down for so long.
