Dragon Age 2 sucks

Dragon Age: Origins was easily one of the best role playing games ever made, especially in the last decade, but this sequel is not worthy of the Dragon Age name. It plays nothing like the original. It looks hardly anything like the original. It's buggy to the point that one quest didn't even work on my PS3, and it makes you visit the same places over and over and over and over again.

Of all the things to complain about in Dragon Age 2, I'm going to jump on one main point to show you just how rushed this game was. Whenever you visit an underground location, you'll be presented with a map of a cave. It will have a couple of different doors in it. Every time you go to a cave, which is about a half dozen or more times in the game, you get the same exact map. The only difference is that some of the doors can't be opened. Throughout the game, you'll start noticing that many interior locations look exactly the same and that's because they are the same. The developers of this game cut so many corners that they recycled maps and content so much that it's a slap in the face to gamers who plunked down the cash for this when it was released. I didn't pay 60 bucks to play through the same areas again and again.

Even worse, the combat here has very little strategy to it. In the original game, you had to prepare for battles and line up characters properly then set off spells in sequence. In this one, you control one character at a time and it's basically hack and slash all the way through. I had maybe three fights that actually presented a challenge, and the rest were simple. Dragon Age: Origins was difficult at times, but this game is a breeze.

Bottom line: Don't waste your money on Dragon Age 2 right now. Wait for the price to drop or just play through the first game again. Bioware ought to be ashamed.
