Great Multiplayer Game

Pros: Offers plenty of games and missions that make this a game to play often

Cons: Sometimes the running games are frustrating to try and win against computers

The Bottom Line: Great sports game for the whole family and parties with active movements.

This quickly became one of my favorite Nintendo Wii games. There are a lot of different summer Olympic sports to try and all use the Wii remote and/or nunchuck to make you feel kind of like you are really doing the sports. I love how every event can be a fun multiplayer event from competing at the same time against each other in events such as rowing to the events you take turns trying to out do each other such as hammer throw.

My favorite event is the trampoline. In this event you flick the Wiimote up when your character is near the trampoline to gain extra height. While in the air you try to do tricks by following the commands it displays on the screen. The commands are different combinations of you pushing the A button, pushing the B button, and twisting the Wiimote sideways to the left or right.

One of the features I like about this game is that you can play as a Mii character. You can also choose to be one of the several Mario or Sonic characters that are available.

Besides the mode that you can play the sports as you choose with one to four players, there is also a one player mission mode and a multiplayer circuit mode. In the mission mode you have to play as a Mario or Sonic player. Each character has different missions for several sports that you try to beat, such as do 5 trampoline tricks in a row. In the circuit mode you compete for the most points by playing several different events in a row. Think of it kind of as a pentathlon, as I think each circuit has five events.

I found this game quite addicting and a blast to play multiplayer with my brother. We could play this for hours at a time daily and never got bored. By the way it starts with only some events unlocked and as you play more you unlock the rest of the events.
