Project Natal is a revolutionary new way to play video games: no controller required. A small device containing cameras and a microphone can not only recognize vocal commands, but can 'see' players' movements … see full wiki
Project Natal was unveiled at this year's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), and from the promotion video and the demos shown on the Microsoft press conference, it looks extremely impressive, it can recognize your every move and maps that to the game?! And it even does voice recognition??!! This clearly is Microsoft's attempt to steal some of Nintendo's success with their Wii console.
After the press conference, I still have a lot of doubts on whether this technology will work as well as they demoed it, if it actually delivers on all the premises, this can potentially be the next evolution in gaming, where the controller may not be needed in some games (I think for certain games, a standard controller will still work better), and may even introduce all new genres of game previously impossible to do. And I'll happy change my rating to +5 when that happens!
