SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation (also known as SOCOM: Confrontation) is a third person tactical shooter video game developed by Slant Six Games and published exclusively by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3 video game console. The game was released on October 14, 2008 on the PlayStation Network and Blu-ray Disc in North America and will be released in 2009 in Europe. The game is the eighth title in the SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs series and the first for the PlayStation 3.

SOCOM has been the series that defined online shooter for the playstation consoles, I will admit I have never played one before, although I have been playing a lot of online shooters since the late '90s (Unreal Tournament and Battlefield 1942 are two of my favorites).  And since PS3 doesn't come with a standard headset, I picked this game up mostly for the bundled official PS3 bluetooth headset.    First of all, the game is pretty barebone compare with a lot of recently …

This is the latest and greatest Socom to be released. The graphics in this game are AMAZING. I miss not having vehicles like on Socom Combined Assault or on Socom 3 but it's still an excellent game. The game modes are all pretty much the same as on previous Socom's. This game certainly isn't perfect but it still is far superior to any other shooter games out there.
