Pros: tons of fun, can download different levels

Snood almost ruined one of my friend's social life. She would call her friends to go out and they would say, "Sorry, I don't feel like it." And she knew that they were playing SNOOD. I never got to be THAT bad, but I do often play it when I should be writing a paper or something.

Snood is a game that is similar to Tetris except that you play at your own pace and shoot the pieces up instead of having them fall down. There are eight different snood pieces or personalities. Seven of the snoods are cute, colorful faces, and one is a skull. You start out with an array of faces (and skulls if you are playing at a more difficult level.) You shoot one of the seven faces up and they stick to the ceiling or other snoods. If you get three of the same type of snood touching, they fall down, along with any other snoods that are dangling from them. It is essential to get dangling snoods to fall, since that lowers the "danger meter." Every time the danger meter gets to the top, the ceiling lowers. If any of the snoods, touch the floor, you die. The danger meter moves faster as the levels become more difficult.

There are several levels of snood: Child, Easy, Medium, Difficult and Evil. You can also play "journey," which starts out at Child and moves its way up. The most fun of all is "Puzzle" which provides interesting patterns of snoods and skulls to start out with. (The other levels use a rectangular pattern of snoods that takes up most of the screen.) If you register your copy of snood at the snood website, which costs $10, you can download additional puzzle levels. I highly recommend this, since many of the puzzle levels are very cool to look at and a lot of fun to play.

When the dangling snoods fall, it makes a very uplifting noise, almost like a trumpet salute for royalty. It's good for the self-esteem. One of my friends said that he wished the world would make that noise when he walked into a room or told a good joke. "Doo-da-DOO!!!"

Snood is a cute, non-violent computer game that is very fun and VERY addictive. Sometimes, when I close my eyes, I see SNOODS... And I look at two people walking and think of them as snoods, "If there were one more of them, they would fall!" I even bought a snood t-shirt. But, I am getting over my addiction.

Go to www.snood.com and download now if you have nothing to do for the next couple of weeks or so.
