LiveJournal, commonly referred to as LJ, is one of the first major blogging sites to be created, and remains popular today.

My favorite features of LJ:

It's very user-friendly. Pretty much anyone who has basic knowledge of the internet can create a LJ.
There are templates available for the appearance of one's blog, or for web geeks, codes can be written for a more customized look.
Blog entries are very easy to post and update.
Blog entries can be set to private, public, friends only, or customized friends list.
Long entries can be put behind cuts.
It's convenient to view all the latest posts of your friends on the friends page.
It not only hosts personal blogs, but communities as well, which can also be followed through the friends page.

Even though I don't blog on LJ as much as I used to, I still visit the site every day to see what's going on with my friends and to visit the various communities on it. My favorite being Oh No They Didn't, a notable celebrity gossip blog. There are also many other notable LJ communities and LJ bloggers out there. From internet celebrities to wrestlers, politicans and artists, LJ is just a great, easy way to update people, and to see what others are up to. It's all good fun.
