Zappos.com is an electronic commerce company specializing in footwear and is currently based in Henderson, Nevada, USA. The company warehouse is located in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, along with an outlet store. In addition, Zappos has two outlets stores in Las Vegas, Nevada and Henderson, Nevada.
Since its founding in 1999, Zappos has grown to be the biggest online shoe store. Zappos did "almost nothing" in sales for 1999, but grossed over $800 million in merchandise sales in 2007, and is projecting over $1 billion in 2008.
The name Zappos is derived from the Spanish word zapatos, meaning shoes.

I haven't shopped at Zappos in a very long time, so long in fact I couldn't remember my password to the site. I am not a typical female in the sense that I HATE shoe shopping. Hate it with a passion. I've been known to wear shoes until they get holes in them just so I can avoid shoe shopping. And then I discovered Zappos.com and their selection of 4 million shoes (yes, you read that number right). Looking for a pair of tan suede knee-high wide calf boots with a 4" heel in size 9? Its funny how this site has been around for so long and I never gave it a try before. My friend told me about it so I went and checked it out. First thing I noticed was that the prices weren't that great. Almost everything was full retail price. But I was sold immediately when I found out it was free overnight shipping and no tax.
