I had some clam chowder on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was a hearty one with lots of potatoes and clams. I could eat this every day, but I sadly I do not.
Yum to them all - even 'saimin' which I've never had, but, if it's from Hawaii, it must be good :) I'd add butternut squash soup, and a beef barley soup made w/ground beef, barley (!), tomatoes, and lots of veggies. With fresh bread ...
I'm a soup fan too and this is a great list. I had to rack my brain because I knew a favorite of mine was missing. It finally dawned on my, Peanut Soup. You've got to try it out, this is a great variation: http://www.history.org/almanack/life/food/fdpnutsp.cfm Aloha!
YUM! Clam Chowder is my #1 too, in a real Sourdough bowl in SF....mmmm.....The other night I made a Butternut Squash soup by mistake and it was SO good, so I'd have to add that to this list. And I've never had 5, 7, or 8 but, they sound really good. Great list! Happy belated b-day :)
