What three to five movies have been undone if not totally ruined by their endings?

Endings are among the top two or three hardest things to handle when telling a story. They have to make sense, satisfy, and put the audience back in the "real world" with a minimum of jarring.

I have added a similar question related to books.

The big one for me was Match Point, a truly fantastic movie whose ending destroys it because it plays with our instincts and want of movie justice in every conceivable way, shape, and form before letting one of worst movie villains of all time go. No Country for Old Men had a bad ending because it basically had no ending. And I know I'm crossing sacred territory by pointing this out, but A Clockwork Orange could have used a lot more closure.

I am not a Hugh Grant or Julia Roberts fan but I did really like the movie Notting Hill until the ending. The ending was just wrong in my opinion and really ruined the movie for me.

The Mark Wahlberg Planet of the Apes was an excellent film ruined by a nonesense ending that tried badly to copy Pierre Boulle's novel ending but failed miserably and only helped to muddle the story. The original Charleton Heston film had a super ending. I was a little taken aback by the ending to the third Lord of the Rings movie. It went on totally too long and was kind of confusing. The only other movie that comes to mind was The Bride of Frankenstein. At the end the monster pulls a switch that anyone could have pushed and it destroys the building that the people are in. What idiot would put a self destruct switch that could be pulled accidentally by anyone. It should be noted that due to bad editing of the end, we see the heroes escape the building and then they are seen back inside the building just before it blows up.

Movies with endings that ruined it? wow. I did not like the ending of "Knowing", the recent "The Devil Inside", Bruckheimer's "King Arthur" and the The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest...this is a great question. I usually remember the ones with the great endings. I'll have to think about this some more.
