Thecla doesn't have a lot of screen time in Gene Wolfe's Tetraology--at least not much as herself. Her existence and plight does drive Severian, to an extent, out of his existence as an ordinary apprentice in the Torturer's Guild. I don't want to be too spoilery, but her afterlife, and how she is bound to Severian for really the remainder of his life is the most interesting thing about her.
