My Favorite OLD TV shows

  • Apr 17, 2010
It all began with Little House On The Prairie... If you were not born then, do forward this to your parents ;-)

(A Lunch Featured List)
Little House On The Prairie
The longest and yet possibly the most meaningful and enjoyable tv shows I watched as a kid. It was a good and healthy show of that time. Most kids probably won't appreciate this now but in those days, it's one that kept us kids going on nights after nights. An incentive to do homework quickly & get over with it so that we could all watched this tv show. Those were the good old days!
Family Ties Cast photo
Michael J Fox was the darling of the show. As Alex Keaton he was arrogant and snobbish but he was perfect for the role. Love him for it! Family sitcoms are so great in those days! There are others like Growing Pains, Everyone Loves Raymond, etc... I still think Family Ties is best!
Mad About You
This is one on how relationships are fun. Helen Hunt was so funny in this one and her chemistry with Paul Reiser made me wished I had such a fun relationship back then! Hmm, possibly even now!
The Nanny
The Nanny is humorous, educational and possibly just pure fun. I've lots of laughs on this sitcom. How come they don't make them like they used to anymore? Wish there are more of such shows!
The Love Boat
Love is in the air & everyone get sets to sail! On The Love Boat, it's happy times and merry making. I enjoyed this show a great deal. It's kinda like always a happy ending and I'm a sucker for that!
Home Improvement
Another one of those in the 90s about Tim Allen and his family. Anything could happen in that 30 mins show and it's a bag of hilarious surprises! I love surprises!
Ally McBeal
This is actually one of my most favorite tv shows of all time! I love the court room sessions and the love between Ally & Gil Bellows. In fact, I thought he was cute back then. There is however a loneliness in Ally that somewhat feels poignant. That was a draw for me.
I watched most of this series on DVDs. My colleague actually had some friend imported them from the U.S. It wasn't screen on TV as far as I could remember. Sex and the City is too "trashy" as far as Asian tv is concerned. But trash can be fun and interesting and even exciting. That's all very much Sex and the City! The script? You've got to love sex to love it ;-)

Beverly Hills, 90210
They are kids, they are rich and they are just trying to make sense of their worlds. I still haven't figured out why I did like this show to begin with but I do believe it was their looks and also the complicated friendships between the cast.
If you like to forward your life to certain situations or circumstances, you'd probably like this one quite a bit. I didn't watched a great many but it was one that me and my sister did follow to a great extend. Conversations in this drama are great!

What did you think of this list?

A lot of the shows on My Tivo Lists are oldies, but goodies, too!  We've got two shows that overlap ;)  I actually use to watch five of these shows on a regular basis, so I'm feeling quite nostalgic reading this!
