Not botanically but culinary a nut. South East Asian cuisines use lots of it, especially Indonesian Cuisine. I grew up eating, drinking & snacking on them. Never did get tired of coconut somehow. Love its juice, crunchy interior & all the delicious dishes made out of coconut milk! Virgin Coconut Oil is excellent for the skin & hair too!
This is the nut for the winter season. As soon as the weather cools, one can find street vendors roasting them on the streets of Hong Kong, Taipei, Shanghai & Beijing. Lovely! Another favorite of mine is Water Chestnut, though technically, that's not a nut but corms of a sledge.
The best almond I've ever had was in cocoa dusted chocolates bought in Switzerland under the brand Cadbury. But, I've never seen them anywhere in the world. Boy, I missed those cocoa-dusted almond chocolates! Sinfully delicious!
Peanut is kinda boring after a while. I did at one time love honey roasted peanuts quite a bit!

Aha, it is a nut indeed; "Botanically, a coconut is a simple dry nut." according to wikipedia! How true that is, well, I don't pretty much care, lol....
