Again, if Microsoft Windows hasn't dominated the world as it did the PC, then the internet wouldn't have taken off too. In that sense, they both share the No. 1 on this list!

Wikipedia has in essence altered our sources of information and made the world a more open and dynamic society. Jimmy Wales is the person who initiated the collaboration effort around the world and also made it free for all. How long is it going to be sustainable is anyone's guess. For now though, the world at large is helping make a better world for the rest of us! Keep it up, Jimmy Wales!

To me, he has redefined the entertainment industry. He gave us ET, Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. Steven Spielberg has showed us important issues can be palatable and doesn't have to be boring and draggy. Without Steven Spielberg, Hollywood would have been very different and we may not have enjoyed our lives as much. His works and influences have certainly been one of a kind!

He reigns for now! Anyone has problem getting the iPad 2? Thanks to him, we might have changed our habits with regards to reading and communicating with our loves one. For better or for worse, it's up to you to decide. Judging from the sales figures, it had been an excellent one for his shareholders!

He could have stayed in the U.S. Instead, unlike many of his predecessors, he flew home to China and began his influences in the world-wide-web. We are referring to his search engine and company, Baidu. Baidu is the most popular Chinese search engine which even supersedes Google's influence in this part of the world.

Robin Li may have been criticized for many things but I do believe he has made the world a better place for some 1.5 billion Chinese both in China and the world! He also proves that one doesn't have to be an American to be highly successful! He lives the dream of many Chinese youths and entrepreneurs! Both fluent in English and Chinese, Robin Li is one of the most successful person in China!

Yes, he's not my favorite person nor is my life in any way changed because of him. Notwithstanding, many in the world has had their relationships with one another enhanced because of Facebook and in that sense he deserves all the applause for having connected the world. Therefore, he's worth the mention here. It's my list so the order is mine. If you choose to disagree, I suggest you start a list of your own ;-) The best list is one that inspire and not one that's complete. Hence, I've omitted the mention of those in the religious world. This is also a list of the living.
