Looks like I've won the race & will be treated to fine dining IF William does in fact stopover in Hong Kong next month, LOL!
devoraJune 30, 2011
Or you could come to San Francisco :P
SharrieJune 30, 2011
Ha, IF he's sending a free ticket over I might consider ;p
devoraJune 30, 2011
Oh, you can just send him an expense report. He'll take care of it ;P
SharrieJuly 01, 2011
Well, if I'm working for him, I'd have. I'm not though & I don't think it's appropriate to capitalize on his goodwill! I think I've enough contacts to approach if I wanted a dinner bad enough, LOL!

hey Sharrie, I just joined Lunch and I clicked into the review for some Hong Kong restaurants and came across your profile. I'm a student at U of T and noticed that you rated it a 4 - are you studying here as well? nice meeting you! just thought i'd say hi because of our similarities!
SharrieNovember 24, 2010
Hi Fiona! Welcome to Lunch! Yes, I graduated from U of T quite some time back! My nephew is now a student in U of T. Hope you're having great fun there! I had some of my best time in life in UT!
It's ok. It's been rather busy for me too, lol. We are already fast approaching winter times. Time moves too fast sometimes, lol!
SharrieOctober 17, 2010
Yep, especially when one is on vacation :-) I'm having my birthday week in Shangrila, China. Yes, there is indeed a place named Shangrila!
AdriannaOctober 17, 2010
How long are you on vacation for? Happy early birthday! I hope you have a wonderful time at Shangrila, China. I haven't traveled very much myself outside the US (main exposure being Canada). One of these days I want to take a trip to Mexico to research my family heritage.
Thanks for accepting me in the Inspirations community! I'm going to move my Quick Tips over now. I have one on Love, Friendship, and Words. :)
Holy moly, did you notice that in our similarity network, we're a 100% match now??? Now I don't know if I'm actually Devora or Sharrie.... ;P
SharrieJuly 20, 2010
No, I didn't realise that! That's not too bad, take comfort you've been to everywhere if you're Sharrie, hahaha.... On the other hand, I need to be paid, being Devora on Lunch, hehehe....
i hope you haven't spoken too soon re the hurricane. we had none last year so a few will surely hit this year and the season began in june. runs till around december. glad to know that typhoon got diverted from you guys but did it hit someone else? you appear to be asian, do you speak any other language? the english seems above average. oh, and you need to spend at least 2 weeks out here. when some people do they run off and hide from the authorities. they dont want to leave, lol.
just wanted to say thanks for the comment you posted back there. congrats, you're my 1st poster !!! i see you like to travel, ever been to jamaica?
SharrieJuly 19, 2010
Not yet, but one day soon, I hope! :-) Hopefully, you guys are not getting too many hurricanes these days! Where I'm now, we just had a typhoon diverted westward, so that's good :-)
Great! There is a statue near our city hall that was recently dedicated to Shanghai. I'll have to post that at some point.
SharrieJune 12, 2010
Interesting! I had been at the Singapore PC Fair just and am thinking of getting the latest Sony NEX compact DSLR camera! It's certainly one cool little thing. NEX5 is out but I'm thinking about the NEX7, check it out: http://gizmodo.com/5538175/rumor-sony-nex+7-...o-and-retain-small-body

SharrieJune 03, 2010
Yes, I used to travel quite a bit. Not so much this year though. All the best to your travels too!
Sharrie, you're creating so many communities that I'm having a hard time keeping up/track! ;P I'll have to check them out when I get the time and move some reviews into them :)
Ever since travel content was allowable on the site, I've been meaning to write a review of Hong Kong! Problem is, I want to include lots of personal photos on it and I haven't uploaded any of them yet :x ...That's my year-end goal :P
Holy cow, congrats! Didn't Woo say that he'd be taking you out somewhere? Or was that for 500 reviews? ;P
woopak_the_thrillApril 13, 2010
it was 500 reviews, Lady D... you are coming with us and it would be your (the two of you) choice of restaurant. Now, I have to take Sean with us, so I don't have to order anything....LMAO
ScotmanApril 14, 2010
Can I come too? We can all go to Tu Lan. :)
woopak_the_thrillApril 14, 2010
Only if you pay your way, Scottie, i'm taking them Slanted Door or that other place that Lady D reviewed... ;-) Sean Rhodes I will have to take with us, since I can eat what he orders LOL!
SharrieApril 14, 2010
You are going to regret you said this! Lady D reviewed French Laundry & that's where we want to go, LOL!
woopak_the_thrillApril 14, 2010
French Laundry....I thought Boulevard or something...oh well. I am leaving behind Scotman then. Besides, Sharrie, you're the world traveler, so you're paying LMAO ;-) *kidding*
Why not send another invitation to Images for me. I cannot find it through searching, sadly. I was afraid that Images community duplicates the DP Party community which is about digital photography.
SharrieApril 13, 2010
Sure. :-) I am not even keen on repeating myself in my reviews, so it's unlikely I'd want to duplicate what someone else is already doing. However, in DP Party case, I didn't realize or rather forget to check that there is already such a community in existence as it is. Then again, photography is such a wide topic so I figured I could angle it differently. Naturally, there might be overlap areas but it's up to members to direct their energies. For now, I'm thinking more about the software (like pictures, videos, photo-editing) aspect of photography (ie. end products). I've taken too many photos not to set up this. Even if no one is joining, it's fine with me too :-)
OK, I understand. I can use your community for the art of photography and use DP Party for the hardware stuff such as cameras and software. Thanks for getting into the Sci Fi community; it really is a lot of fun to add reviews and comments there.
SharrieApril 14, 2010
As and when I'm inspired. Funny thing about movies. I may see lots of them, but when it comes to reviews, I'm not even keen to put up my own. Reviewing movies is too technical for me somewhat ;-)

Question: what is the difference between Mandarin and Hakka cuisines?
SharrieApril 06, 2010
If not mistaken, Mandarin is another term for Peking (Beijing) cuisine. One is northern while the other is southern cuisine. Food wise, eg. Peking duck vs Yong tau foo.
