Top 20 Countries I've Yet Visited & Hope To (SOON!)

  • Jan 29, 2010
Woopak suggested me to make a list of places I've never been to. So, here it is! :-) Easy as ABC :-p
1
Bhutan
I'd like to have a honeymoon here, that's why this is #1. It's a retreat and it has something that no other country has, I do believe. Something spiritual.
2
Namibia
The sand dunes and the deserts are what I'm going there for.
3
Uzbekistan
It's Central Asia and I've seen lots of interesting architectures and a culture that's different from many other parts of the world.
4
Tanzania
Kilimanjaro, here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5
Israel
Frankly, I've no idea why or what I'm going to go there for. But since I'm a Christian, this is a must!
6
Tunisia
Again, Sahara Desert is the main attraction!
7
Ukraine
Ukraine has some of the prettiest churches and for a time I was very into making a trip to this country.
8
Kazakstan
I met some students from Kazakstan when taking a course in Beijing University. I had no idea prior to that that they look so much like Koreans! That's an interesting discovery to me. I wonder what else that might be interesting in this country too! A Fund Manager friend of me had recommend a visit, we went to Peru together. So, I hope to go soon. May be this year?
9
Kyrgyzstan
Another country my friend Julie has recommended. Apparently the landscapes in this country are gorgeous!
10
Bolivia
Bolivia has some awe-inspiring & surreal landscapes which are hidden gems. It's a cool country and I hope one day I'll get there although it's a little far off from where I'm right now.
11
Fiji
I just found out there is direct flights twice weekly from Hong Kong to Nadi, Fiji. So, this shall be on the card in the next few months.
12
Algeria
I've seen unbelievable pix on Algeria from a European traveler and had been wanting to go soon. The vista? Something like on the moon!
13
Kenya
Safari, what else? ;-)
14
Seychelles
An Indonesian friend of mine recommended it. Claimed it's not only a seaside resort kind of vacation, it's also full of artists who reside here. I think she went with her husband who's art collector (professionally a lawyer).
15
Mauritius
The sea, the resort and spa!
16
Madagascar
Some interesting landscapes. Although someone told me it's like visiting Malaysia! So, now I'm having a bit of doubts...
17
Venezuela
Miss Universe hometown? Well, I've seen more beautiful women from this country than anywhere else in the world. Wonder if it's the water or something they eat. Gotta find out so I can improve myself ;-)
18
Would have gone to Panama if not because of the hassle with getting a visa to this country! Arggggggghhhhhhh....
19
Dominica
A lonely planet author I met in Hungary told me this is the country to visit if I'm interested to see something unique about the Caribbean. I hope he's right and I'm keeping this for future reference.
20
Zimbabwe
Just 2 words: Victoria Falls.

You must be very well travelled indeed if you've worked your way to Dominica. I'd be ahppy going anywhere. I've never even been to Canada. It took me 50 years to get to California. I like cool green places after all those years in Florida--New Zealand, Ireland (love the music), and I'd love to see parts of Asia even though it can be hot.

I do love and enjoy Ireland. The Irish are extremely charming ;-)

They say they have 52 shades of green. Florida was very brown--seemed like we were aways having a drought--actually they were in a 100 year drought condition. But I love green hilly, woodsy place with fog and a little chill in the air. You can imagine how happy I was in Florida! If I was lucky here was one ay like that a year-- minus the green, the hills, and the woodsy that is. =)

Since I'm not as well travelled as you (for goodness' sake, few people are), the list of places I'd like to see include a few more mainstream places. That said, our lists would cross over in a few instances: Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar and Zimbabwe. I definitely want to see Mt Kilimanjaro and the Okavango Delta.

How about creating your very own list? :-)

I think I may do that. Stay tuned!
