Take a look at my list of favorite sports cars in the world. This list contains only the expensive sports cars in the world, and it does not inlclude cars such as Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, NIssan Skyline GT-R, etc. Most of these cars rank high in performance, design, etc.
The $1,700,000 car is the best car I've seen so far--both in performance-wise and in design. It's got a 8.0 L quad-turbocharged W16 (16 cylinder) engine that can produce up to 1001 bhp. The car has a top speed of 254 mph (407kmh), a 7-speed DSG sequential transmission, which makes it the 2nd fastest car in the world. Unlike most other competitors this car comes with 10 radiators--including one for the spoiler. The best part about this car is that you still can enjoy the luxury while experiencing the performance. Moreover, the car comes with a speacial speed key, which is required to be insterd into the slot by the door in order to reach the top speed (i.e. 407km/h). Inserting the key will retract the spoiler and lower the car to become slippery as possible. It does 0 to 60 mph at a stunning 2.4 seconds.
Enzo Ferrari is the ultimate machine ever produced by Ferrari. The $670,000 car is the 6th fastest production car in the world, and was named after the founder of the Ferrari company, Enzo Ferrari. Enzo has a 6.0 L V12 engine that could produce up to 660 bhp @ 7800 RPM. The car has a top speed of 220 mph, and is capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Enzo has a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission system which is known as Formular 1 type transmission. A car is said to have a mannual gear box only if there is a foot clutch. Since the Enzo only has paddle shifters, the car is categorized neither an auto nor a manual. The Enzo's gear box has a shift-time of 150 milliseconds giving the car a minimal delay when changing gears. There were only 401 cars ever made by Ferrari, and the 400th car was auctioned to benefit the survivors of the 2004 Tsunami for $1.3 million (almost twice as the list price).
The McLaren F1 is the 5th fastest production car (fastest naturally aspirated production car) in the world. With its BMW S70/2 60 Degree 6.1 L V12 engine, it can produce about 627 bhp--clocking at a top speed of 240 mph. The car is priced at $970,000, and amazingly the car has only one seat at the front. The car does 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and 0-125 mph in 6.7 seconds.
This is one of my favorite sports cars in the world. It's the successor of the Diablo, and was introduced to the market in 2002. The 2-door coupe, mid-engine, all-wheel-drive car has a huge 6.5 liter V12 engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine produces about 632 bhp and can reach a top speed of 211 mph. The car does 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds, but it's placed at the 9th placeof the fastest production cars list. The car is priced at base price of $430,000. The most attractive thing about this car is that the unique design.
This car is one of the niciest cars to have in your front yard. The DBS was developed as the ultimate expression of Aston Martin's engineering and technical ability. The car has 6.0 liter 48-valve V12 engine and it's capable of producing 512 bhp, and reaching a top speed of 194 mph. This car may not have enough power to compete with other high-end sports cars, but it's one of those cars that every guy likes to have. The cars is praced at $269,000 and it does 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds.
Koenigsegg CCX is a Swedish car that has been engineered to comply with US demands and specifications. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, and 0-124 mph in 9.8 seconds. The car comes with a 4.7 L V8 DOHC engine, and it's capable of reaching 250mph with 806bhp under the hood. Like its contenders the mid-engine, two-door coupe is prcied at $722,534, which is not pretty bad given the fact that it's the 4th fastest car in the world.
Saleen S7 Twin Turbo is the 3rd fastest production car in the world with a top speed of 248mph. The car has 7.0L V8 engine that can produce about 750 bhp @ 6300 rpm. Even though the car has less horse powers compared to its contenders, it uses carbon fiber body parts to reduce the weight and to gain top speeds. This cowboy is the first true American production super car, and it' spriced at $550,000. The car does 0-60 mph at staggering 2.8 seconds.

Germen engineered, $440k, mid-engine car is the most expensive car Porsche has ever produced. It has a 5.7L V10 engine and is capable of delivering 612 bhp. Even though the car has such an engine it's only placed at the 10th place of the list of fastest cars in the world. It does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, and 0-100 in 6.8 seconds. The car comes with a traditional 6-speed manual transmision system, and has a top speed of 205mph. One of the reasons why I like this cars is the design maily.
Although, $654,400 car holds the title for the fastest production car in the world, I rate it pretty low in terms of design and luxury. The SSC Ultimate Aero TT is an American-built mid-engine supercar designed by Shelby SuperCars, and is the first to held the fastest-production-car title since Ford GT40 in 1967 by an American manufacturer. The SSC Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo has a 6.2 L V8 supercharged Twin-Turbo engine that can produce up to 1183bhp @ 6950, with a top speed of 257 mph. The car does from 0-60 mph in 2.78 seconds (but still over Bugatti Veyron's 2.46 seconds). Like I mentioned earlier, this car does not impress me that much (except the speed) compared to its contenders.
