Nokia HF-510 Bluetooth Speakerphone Makes Transition to Hands-Free Calling Simple

Odds are you live in a city where talking on a cell-phone while driving will get you a pricey fine. If you don't have a Bluetooth or wired headset, you may want to consider getting a speakerphone for your ride. I recently had the opportunity to test out the Nokia HF-510 and came away thoroughly impressed.

The unit comes complete with everything you need to mount it on your dash, windshield or sunvisor, and installs effortlessly, regardless of location. Syncing the device with your Bluetooth-enabled phone is quick and straightforward and you can be up and running, from opening the box to talking on the phone, in a couple minutes.

You may remember the original Bluetooth speakerphones that, besides a volume knob, didn't do much but offer a microphone and some hollow sound. Luckily, those days are behind us. The Nokia HF-510 offers a nice OLED screen that keeps you apprised of battery life (30 hrs talk, 180 hrs standby), displays caller name and number as well as current status. The sound quality is crisp and clear and the volume is easily adjustable without distortion. The one knock is that both the unit and the mobile phone  ring simultaneously which is annoying, and disabling the ringer on your cell also puts the Nokia unit on silent.
