Must Have iPhone Apps

Slingplayer iPhone App Logo
EDIT: Slingplayer for iPhone NOW WORKS OVER 3G! The best App just got better.

Even though AT&T crippled this app by limiting it to Wifi, I can't blame the app for this. The ability to essentially carry your entire TV/DVR content around with you makes this the must have app. Hopefully AT&T will do the right thing and open this up to the 3G network.
See the full review, "Watch TV on your iPhone from Anywhere... Well Almost Anywhere".

Snatch icon
I use this app to control my Mac Mini Home Theater. Keyboard, mouse and "custom remote" functionality. This app does it all.
See the full review, "Is that a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse in your Pocket or just a really cool iPhone App?".

Remote iPhone App
I can't believe I forgot this from my list initially! This app takes a little work to setup , but is so much fun to play with. I love sitting out in the backyard listening to music, and using my iPhone to change the volume, the track, or the playlist. Great interface. Excellent integration with your home computer.

Midomi Application icon
"What is the name of this song again?" Way too easy now with this app.
See the full review, "Can you name that tune in 5 seconds?".

fring for iPhone
Anyone who travels internationally should have this app. Works great with my VOIP account letting me essentially make free calls to the US from anywhere I have network connectivity.
See the full review, "An app to make phone calls from your iPhone... wait, what??".
6
Airfoil Logo
This app work with the Airfoil software for PC or Mac. Great for sending audio around to other computers and more specifically, your iPhone.
See the full review, "Airfoil: How to watch Iron Eagle in bed without waking your wife".
7
Pandora icon
I probably listen to more music through this app than the iPod on my iPhone.  It keeps the music fresh and works great on my commute through my car stereo or when going for walks.
8
Chipotle iPhone Application
This app was released early in 2009, but was pulled because it was too popular and was causing issues with their servers. In August, the app was re-released and I made sure to grab it that very day. What better way to combine my love of burritos and my love of my iPhone!

What did you think of this list?

I would make my favorite Palm Pre app list if there were any good ones :) I actually haven't looked lately, but that is one of the differences where Palm has significant ground to make up. Of course, not having a Google Voice app outweighs almost everything else.

I didn't mean to imply that Pre has a full on Google Voice app -- it just has an unofficial one -- http://lifehacker.com/5326334/unofficial-goo...e-app-lands-on-palm-pre I wouldn't recommend switching over to the Pre from an Iphone. There is some good data over on techcrunch on the benefits of some of the Android phones, especially if you like Google Voice. I updated my Palm Pre review if you want more details http://www.lunch.com/data/Palm_Pre-1393029-R...t_of_promise-10854.html
