My Home Theater

  • Jul 23, 2009
What are the components that make up your home theater setup?
1
RX-V1800 Yamaha Receiver
The Receiver is the heart of any home theater system. The RX-V1800 supports just about all of the latest technologies including HDMI upconversion, DTS-HD, Dolby Digital True-HD, as well as enough power to drive a second or third listening area. Oh, and it sounds incredible.

Apple Mac mini MB463LL/A Desktop
The Mac Mini is now my default media player. Whether I'm watching DVD's, online content, listening to music or browsing photos, the Mini gets the job done.
3
Playstation 3
For the ultimate in sound and picture, BluRay is still the best game in town. My PS3 doesn't spend very much time playing games, but it excels at BluRay playback.
4
DirecTV HR20
There is no better service provider for sports than DirecTV. Incredible HD channel selection, reliable DVR functionality (as well as slick iPhone remote scheduling app) and the HR20 is the best pick for your TV service.
5
Xbox 360
I don't play games on the PS3 because I prefer to play them on the Xbox. Xbox Live is far better than the Playstation Network, and I find the Xbox controller much more comfortable (particularly for first person shooters).
