My top 5 favorite characters on Modern Family

  • Jun 28, 2011

Just picked up this show again and thought it was time for the list of my favorite characters before I tackled doing episodes and reviews.
Jay Pritchett
Why number 1, He's Ed O' Neill and thats all the reason I need but 2 would have to be his biting sarcasm and doing his best to be ahead of the game and if it comes tumbling down, he isn't afraid to admit he's wrong or at least take some of the blame. It's great to see him bond with Manny even though you know he'd much rather be spending that extra special time with Gloria instead.

See the full review, "He finally got rich selling all those shoes".
Phil Dunphy
For that clueless dumb TV dad, Phil even in this modern age could be King and is Paul McCartney to Tim Allen's Billy Joel. The fact that he tries to be a hip dad to his kids who think he's a gomer while having the most infantile attitude at times when dealing with Claire makes him an anomaly considering he loves his iPads, universal remotes and has a posh real estate job.

Gloria Delgado-Pritchett
Hmmmmm, wonder why shes so high on the list? Okay shes a honey with that great voice (I love how she pronounces "pickles") and at times, when shes says she means something, damn it she means it. She is so not a gold digger.

Manny Delgado
Has there been a sweeter kid on TV who isn't full of sugar and sap? NO. Manny is a charming little guy who clearly is looking at long term life, unlike Luke who would have to get the box off of his head to see anything.

Cameron Tucker
This big wad of awesome can sing a tune, be a clown and kick ass in the name of defending his daughter. Avid Costco shopper to boot and I'm glad he isn't a total stereotype.

What did you think of this list?
