I'm trying. I really am. I use environmentally-friendly kitchen counter cleaner (who knows what bacteria are now thriving there), eco toilet-bowl cleaner (hmmm) and naturally derived laundry detergent (we'll see how long I can hold out on this one), but I have given up on eco-friendly dishwashing gel.
This is my second or third try using a "green" dishwashing gel. This time I went for Bright Green (a Safeway brand) -- it sounded good! Now my white plates are tinged with brown spots and I am afraid that it is perhaps baked on from the heat of the dishwasher. My glasses are crusted with black flecks and my knives are dulled with a layer of who-knows-what.
There's not much more to say, except that I will be heading to the store today to get me some good old Cascade. I'm not happy washing my plates with chemicals either, so if someone can recommend a brand that works, I am willing to give green another go.
